Upcycling/Garment Repair Class (5 Part)

In this course, we’ll progress through various sewing and garment construction techniques to lay the groundwork necessary to master Sewing and/or Fashion Design. Participants will be guided through the process of various projects including denim repair, creating a stuffed animal, and eventually a pair of pants from scratch. They’ll take home various custom projects made using our wide selection of recycled materials and will learn so much about sewing and sustainable fashion. All materials and equipment are provided but if participants have a machine lying around at home, we encourage them to bring it in for their lessons. Our team will gladly help familiarize you with your personal machine for you to begin using it at home. We recommend participants have at least a small amount of sewing experience to start, but if willing to take on the challenge a beginner could certainly manage to keep up. We will meet every Wednesday from 4:00-6:00 pm for five weeks (07/02-07/30). We can also accommodate make-up dates to help participants stay on course if necessary. This is the perfect opportunity for sewers, beginners to intermediate level, who want to fine-tune/expand their skills.
