Sea Turtle Plushie Sewing Workshop

Participants will have the opportunity to create their own Stuffed Sea Turtle from scratch. Choosing from our wide variety of recycled fabrics for the legs, belly, and shell, we will guide customers through the process of cutting, sewing, and stuffing a Sea Turtle Stuffed Animal. This project makes a wonderful gift to a loved one or unique throw pillow to decorate your home! The Sew Your Own Sea Turtle Workshop is beginner friendly but is also great for intermediate sewers! If you have a sewing machine we encourage you to bring it in even if you aren’t confident using it. We will take a look and show you the ropes of your personal machine and begin you on the path of learning the many ways you can fight textile waste from home! If you don’t have a machine, no worries. We’ll have lots of sewing machines available for customers to use. 10% of all proceeds on this workshop will go toward the Ocean Cleanup Project, an organization that aims to remove 90% of the oceans plastic by 2040. They develop technology to extract plastic pollution from the oceans and rivers. They began focusing on the Great Pacific Garbage patch but have expanded their efforts to rivers all over the world to keep the pollution from ever reaching the ocean in the first place. To date they’ve intercepted over 15.8 million Kilos of garbage from our waterways!
